Introduction
The Dickinson Diamonds are committed to fostering a positive, supportive, and respectful environment for all members of our community. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all participants, including players, parents, coaches, and board members, to ensure that everyone involved in the Dickinson Diamonds upholds the values of sportsmanship, integrity, and mutual respect.
1. Players’ Code of Conduct
As a player representing the Dickinson Diamonds, I will:
1.1 Respect: Treat all teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, and spectators with respect, regardless of race, gender, ability, or background.
1.2 Sportsmanship: Demonstrate good sportsmanship on and off the field by being gracious in victory and defeat.
1.3 Effort and Attitude: Give my best effort at all times, maintain a positive attitude, and be willing to learn and improve.
1.4 Teamwork: Support my teammates, listen to my coaches, and contribute positively to the team dynamic.
1.5 Rules and Discipline: Follow all team rules, including those related to attendance, punctuality, and behavior. Accept the consequences for any infractions.
1.6 Safety: Prioritize my safety and the safety of others by playing within the rules, reporting injuries, and following instructions.
1.7 Substance Abuse: Refrain from the use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco products at all team-related events.
1.8 Representation: Recognize that my actions reflect on the Dickinson Diamonds and strive to be a positive ambassador for the organization.
2. Parents’ Code of Conduct
As a parent of a player in the Dickinson Diamonds, I will:
2.1 Support: Encourage my child to do their best, enjoy the game, and focus on personal development rather than just winning.
2.2 Respect: Treat all players, coaches, officials, and other parents with respect. Avoid criticizing players, coaches, or officials during games or practices.
2.3 Communication: Maintain open and respectful communication with coaches and board members. Address any concerns privately and constructively.
2.4 Role Modeling: Set a positive example by demonstrating good sportsmanship and respect for everyone involved in the sport.
2.5 Involvement: Get involved in the team or organization in a constructive manner, whether through volunteering, attending meetings, or supporting events.
2.6 Sideline Conduct: Refrain from coaching from the sidelines, making negative comments, or engaging in disruptive behavior during games or practices.
2.7 Spectator Accountability: Take responsibility for the behavior and actions of any individuals in attendance on behalf of your child for example friends and family.
2.8 Adherence to Policies: Follow all policies and guidelines set forth by the Dickinson Diamonds, including those related to conduct, safety, and communication.
3. Coaches’ Code of Conduct
As a coach for the Dickinson Diamonds, I will:
3.1 Leadership: Serve as a role model for players by demonstrating integrity, respect, and commitment both on and off the field.
3.2 Development: Focus on the development of each player’s skills, confidence, and character, promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
3.3 Respect: Treat all players, parents, officials, and other coaches with respect. Handle disputes calmly and constructively.
3.4 Fairness: Provide all players with equitable opportunities to participate and contribute, regardless of skill level.
3.5 Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with players and parents, offering constructive feedback and being receptive to concerns.
3.6 Safety: Prioritize the safety and well-being of all players, ensuring that equipment is safe and that players are physically and mentally prepared to compete.
3.7 Professionalism: Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, including punctuality, preparation, and adherence to team and league rules.

4. Board Members’ Code of Conduct
As a board member of the Dickinson Diamonds, I will:
4.1 Leadership and Integrity: Uphold the mission and values of the Dickinson Diamonds by acting with integrity, transparency, and accountability in all board activities.
4.2 Respect and Collaboration: Foster a respectful and collaborative environment among board members, coaches, players, and parents.
4.3 Decision-Making: Make decisions that are in the best interest of the players and the organization as a whole, free from personal bias.
4.4 Communication: Ensure clear, honest, and timely communication with all stakeholders, including parents, coaches, and players.
4.5 Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters discussed during board meetings and in other official capacities.
4.6 Conflict of Interest: Disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse myself from decisions where such conflicts may arise.
4.7 Support for Coaches and Players: Provide resources and support to coaches and players to help them succeed both on and off the field.
4.8 Accountability: Hold myself and others accountable to the standards set forth in this Code of Conduct, addressing issues promptly and fairly.
